Organizing a good championship means we have to make (financial) decisions now together with the local organizers (Dutch High Performance Sailing). And looking for how the corona-virus is now going around the world we are afraid it will take more months before everybody can fly and travel again around the world to participate in events. Also the Olympics in Tokyo are postponed because of this kind of reasons (and much bigger and more). After discussing all aspects with our team and local organizers we also came to the conclusion to cancel the Worlds in Medemblik. However we directly make a new plan to have our Nacra 15 Open World Championships in October:

Your IN15CA team is currently exploring options to best give us all something positive and to look forwards to. Enhancing our planned Swiss European Championships 17th-23rd October 2020 within the school holidays is our preferred choice, we’re talking with all accordingly to make that possible…

On behalf of all, I’d like to share a massive thanks to the team at Dutch High Performance sailing who have invested a huge amount of time and enthusiasm in helping us create the Medemblik Worlds to what was shaping up to be a truly fantastic event, thank you.

On a positive note, the European fleet enjoyed a fantastic event hosted by our friends at BISC late February giving us results from the first 2020 Nacra 15 European Super Series. We still have Belgium and Marseille in the calendar for later in the year along with a potentially re-scheduled RYS UK Youth national Championships, we’ll tweak the NOR for the European Super Series to still give final positions from a reduced calendar
