How to qualify your country to partipate the Youth Olympics? Download the Qualification document here: http://sailing.org/42409.php
14 mixed teams (between 15 and 18 years old) from 14 countries (1 team per country) may participate the Youth Olympics. The qualification of the countries will be organized by the International Nacra 15 Class in continental qualifier events in 2017/2018 and during the Nacra 15 World Championships in April 2018. Qualification events will be sailed on standard Nacra 15 (with C foils) with mixed teams. The age of the teams must be in the same age of those who may participate in the Youth Olympics (this means a team sailing the qualification must also be able to participate the Youth Olympics in 2018). This means in 2017 the teams must be <18 years and in 2018 the age must be <19 years. After a country is qualified, the countries will organize their own selections.
18 September news for the NACRA 15 teams/countries seeking to compete at the 2018 Youth Olympic Games at Buenos Aires Argentina. At the last World Sailingboard meeting in Madrid it was unanimous decided that the NACRA 15 with C-foils will be the used equipment at these games. World Sailing confirmed this to Nacra Sailing this morning today. The earlier mentioned foiling Nacra15 Class Association will NOT be used at the YOG in Argentina. End of message.
